Lake Worth Street Painting Festival
The last weekend in Feb. is Street Painting Festival in Lake Worth (20 minutes from our place). We went 3 years ago and loved it. Amateur and professional artists start their paintings on Friday night and work on them Saturday and Sunday. It is usually very hot. We did get some rain on Saturday and on Sunday. Most covered their paintings and that saved them. Some did not :( Paintings are done with pastels. Hope you enjoy this post. The theme this year was movies.
Notice the photo is his hands.
E.T. phone home..........
Who wore the ruby slippers?
This man used to live in El Salvador. It was his first time he did a painting. He installs floors (his day job) and installed our floors. His name is Oscar and he's a very nice man.
Three years ago this lady did my favourite painting. It was a green butterfly with black background. This one is beautiful too.
We looked at this one through a lens. It's 3D and really cool. You can now see a bit of 3D.
From one of my favourite movies............Edward Scissorhand.........
This guy was spray painting a mural on the wall.
This is David and he was the contractor for our renovations. He said he does not get paid to do this but loves doing street paintings. He does black and white portraits. He has done many and loves meeting other artists. His girlfriend is the lady who did Cleopatra. It was fun going there and talking to 3 of the artists.
Oscar put 2 footprints so people can stand on his painting and get their picture taken.
They had a kids area too.
